Area and Perimeter Worksheets are used to measure the objects total quantity and a path that
encloses the area respectively or area is the number of square units that can fit inside the
shape and perimeter is the length around a shape.
Let's take some shapes and determine the area and the perimeter for them:
1. Area and perimeter for the triangle, triangle has three sides: 
Area = 1 / 2 ( b * h )
A triangle that have base = 10 cm and a height = 3 cm
Then area wil be A = 1 / 2 ( b * h ) where b is base and h is height.
A = 1 / 2 ( 10 * 3 )
A = 1 / 2 ( 30 )
A = 15 cm 2

Parameter = a + b + c where a, b and c are the three points of the triangle
A triangle that have a = 5 cm, b = 7 cm, and c = 8 cm.
P = a + b + c
P = 5 + 7 + 8
P = 20 cm
2. Area and perimeter for the rectangle, rectangle have four sides : 
Area = l * w where l is length and w is width
A rectangle that have length = 6 m and a width = 5 m
Then area wil be A = l * w
A = 6 * 5
A = 30 m 2
Parameter = 2 ( l + w ) units where l is length and w is width of the rectangle.
A rectangle that have length = 11 cm and width 15 cm.
P = 2 ( l + w )
P = 2 ( 11 + 15 )
P = 2 ( 26 )

P = 52 cm
3. Area and perimeter for the square, square also have four sides but all are same: 
Area = a 2 where a is the side length.
A rectangle that have side length = 6 m
Then area wil be A = a 2
A = 6 2
A = 36 m 2
Parameter = 4 * side length.
A rectangle that have side length = 6 cm.
P = 4 * side length
P = 4 * 6
P = 24 meters.
4. Perimeter for the polygon depend on the total sides available in polygon
A polygon that has 5 sides is cal ed pentagons. Then perimeter wil be a + b + c + d + e
A polygon that has 6 sides is cal ed hexagons. Then perimeter wil be a + b + c + d + e + f
A polygon may contain much number of sides like 7, 8 etc....
The area for the polygon can be determined by the three ways.
