8.
Use the starter to t u r n the engine - the m o v e m e n t of the chain against the
t e n s i o n e r blade and p i t o n will release the mechanical tensioner.
NOTE: The revised t e n s i o n e r does not have an external access
point for r e t r a c i n g the mechanical tensioner. If the revised
t e n s i o n e r has to be r e m o v e d f r o m the engine, the c a m s h a f t cover
m u s t first be r e m o v e d to a l l o w access to the t e n s i o n e r piston and
blade to ensure that the p i t o n is w i t h d r a w n w i t h the t e n s i o n e r
b o d y
9.
Reinstall the fuel p u m p relay and start the engine to repressurize the fuel
system.
10. Verify that the chain ramie is no longer present on hot or cold restarts.
