Before I begin to educate you on Search Engine Optimization I would like to
mention that I live by this one rule; “Time is money and the more time that you
waste the less money you make”
.
With that being said I am going to get straight to the point not wasting your time
and not participating in giving you watered down information that will not help
you with your SEO efforts in an easy to understand language.
There is tons of information out there regarding SEO and the way it should be
done. There is an ethical way and an unethical way of doing it and it is totally up
to you how you want to go about it. I do everything the ethical way because it has
already been proven to work and what the search engines love.
If you decide to do things the unethical way, the search engines will finally catch
on to what you are doing and put you out of business which means you wasted all
that hard work you have put in to become successful in life.
I am going tell you what works and how to do it and as you begin to become more
comfortable with SEO feel free to experiment with it but remember that the
Search Engines don’t wait for anybody might as well get it right the first time.

Let’s begin

What Is Search Engine Optimization?

There are 2 types of methods you can use SEO and I will explain both.
1. Natural Listings
2. Pay-Per-Click (PPC)

What both have in common and is the core for targeting the right audience and
bringing in traffic to your business is “Keywords”. Keywords are the most

important part of your SEO efforts and without it you will be wasting your time. I
will explain more about keywords in a bit.
The “Natural Listings” is what I will be covering in this book for you. The Natural
Listings process is intentionally adding keywords, adjusting the HTML code and
adding back-links to increase the visibility of your website in search engines such
as the infamous Google.
This process will take you some time because you are competing with thousands
of other pages, but it will pay off in the end. When a potential lead or customer
types in the keyword you are targeting the search engine will go out and find the
most relevant information related to that keyword starting with the Web Page
that has the most authority over all the others.
There are many factors that the search engines are looking for in WebPages to
figure out who will be placed on the first page. It is impossible to know all these
factors, but I will go over the ones that you have total control over that will
increase your chances of being placed on the first page in the next chapter.
Once your webpage has shown the most authority it will be placed on the first
page and stay there until they find another page that has more authority then
yours. This means that you must always be working to improve your site in order
to stay at the top.
This is good for your business because you will be getting consistent traffic to
your site on a daily basis without having to pay a dime so all sales that come in
will be purely profit.
Pay-Per-Click is a method that you have to pay to have your ad on the first page
of the search engine for your desired keyword. How this works is, when someone
clicks on your ad you will be charged and depending what niche you are in the
click cost could be very expensive.
These PPC ads are the “Sponsored Links” section that you see at the top and on
the right hand side of the search engines. How much you are willing to pay and

how well your ad converts will determine the position of your ad. PPC is a whole
another art in itself that will require you to learn a set of skills.

Why Do You Need Search Engine Optimization?

Without SEO on any of your webpage’s your business will basically be a ghost
town and nobody will be able to find whatever it is you have to offer even if you
have the best product in the world.
SEO is how you will generate traffic to your business and hopefully bring in leads
and more sales.

Search Engines Ranking Pages
As I mentioned earlier in the last chapter there are over a hundred factors that
the search engines look for when deciding what webpage they are going to rank
that is related to the keyword being searched.
The one thing that you need to remember when focusing on SEO is that the
search engines don’t rank the whole website, they rank webpage’s. So each page
or blog post has to be optimized for one keywords in order for your webpage to
rank well.

What Do Search Engines Look For?

1. On-Page Optimization
2. Off-Page Optimization

The On-page Optimization focuses on your domain name, the title of your page,
the description Meta tag, keyword density in your content, is the content
relevant, keyword prominence, heading tags, sitemap and the activity going on
with that page such as comments.
The Off-Page Optimization deals with how many other webpage’s are pointing
back to your webpage also known as back-links. The search engines will also look
at the anchor text of the page that is linking back to yours as well as looking at the
On-Page Optimization of that webpage and if the webpage is of high authority.
Now as I mentioned before there are many other factors that the search engines
look at but if you focus just on these alone you will be very successful in your
search engine optimization efforts.

On-Page Optimization Introduction
On-Page optimization is the most important step to achieving high rankings in the
search engines and cannot simple be avoided. This is how the search engines are
going to find your webpage and determine if it should be placed in their search
engine.
The search engines want to provide the reader with as much relevant valuable
information as possible in order to show the reader that the search engine they
are using is reliable.
So the search engines have rules that you must follow and if you don’t your
webpage will never even get close to reaching the first page which means no
leads and no money. If you follow everything I am about to show you with On-
Page Optimization you will be fine and rank on the first page and of course it is
going to take hard work and dedication.
One major factor I can’t stress enough is that you must provide you’re targeted
reader with content that will benefit them in some way possible or they will click
away, never return and all your efforts where just wasted.
In the next chapters I am going to show you what to do with SEO so that the SE
will fall in love with your website and want to place it on the front page for your
target keywords.

The Importance of Keywords

Keywords are the foundation to your SEO and without it you will fail greatly. It is
very important that you learn keyword research so that you are able to target
keywords that will bring you the right people that are ready to buy.
Now unless you just want to increase your traffic then I would suggest you find
keywords that have the most traffic and use those for that reason but also find
those that will bring you more sales.

Why Keywords Are Important?

Keywords are how the search engines find webpage’s related to keywords that
are being typed in the SE’s. For example if I type in “How to walk a dog” the SE
will go out and find all the webpage’s that are related to that keyword. That page
will have the keyword in the domain, the title, the meta description, throughout
the content and back links related to that webpage.
Now you see that keywords are everything and each page or post on your website
should target one keyword in order to maximize your results.
This is very important for you’re on and off page optimization and has to be up to
par.
I suggest that you take time to build a keyword list of all the keywords you would
like to target in your niche. One of the best tool that you can use is Google’s free
tool. It is very accurate and will show you how much traffic that keyword gets a
month, how much competition and how much it would cost to pay for that
keyword to be place on the first page.

Keyword Density

What is Keywords Density?

Keyword density is something that is often overlooked and something that should
not be forgotten. KD is the percentage of times a keyword appears in your
content compared to the total amount of words in your content.
Keyword density is one of the factors that determine whether or not that page is
relevant to the keyword that is being repeated in the content and the keyword
that is being search in the SE.
As I mentioned before there is an ethical way and unethical way of doing things
and the SE’s have rules you must follow. You cannot just simple fill your content
overusing your keywords trying to gain high page rankings; this is called keyword
stuffing which SE’s look down upon and will penalize your webpage.
The keyword density that you should aim for is between 2-3% anything more will
be considered spam or keyword stuffing and anything less will show you webpage
to be irrelevant.
Here is how you find the keyword density;
How many times a keyword is repeated/total words in text * 100. This will show
you your keyword density.
It is very important that you follow this rule to maximize your on page
optimization. Some will say that this is not important but the SE’s do use Keyword
Density as one of their factors ranking a webpage.
