Tyler Independent School District (Tyler ISD) is a public school district based in Tyler, Texas.
In addition to serving most of Tyler, the Tyler ISD serves the city of Noonday and rural areas
in west central Smith County. In 2009, the Tyler ISD was rated “academically acceptable” by
the Texas Education Agency.
As the largest school district in Northeast Texas, Tyler ISD encompasses 193 square miles,
maintains a total of 36 campus and auxiliary facilities, and serves an enrollment of 18,000
students. The district is made up of two high schools, six middle schools, 17 elementary
schools, two alternative schools, and one special education campus. The District’s on-site
management policy enables administrators and teachers at each campus to implement
programs responsive to the particular needs of its individual student body.

Tyler ISD Auxiliary Facilities
Tyler ISD also maintains the Professional Development Complex (located adjacent to Peete
Elementary in Tyler). This facility houses a small number of information technology staff and
serves as a large training facility for Tyler ISD faculty and staff. It is located in the building
